Are you interested in drugs and drug development? If yes it seems that sustainable drug discovery might be your track to success!

Several sustainable and economical tools can be used in drug development and discovery. An example of such an approach has been published also by partners from Medial University of Gdańsk.

A novel, effective method for potential biomarkers of neoplastic disorders extraction method was developed and optimized with the use of a sufficient and extremely useful Design of Experiments (DoE) approach. DoE principles correspond to the concept of Green Chemistry as less chemicals and resources are necessary for conducting experiments. Moreover, the development of environmentally friendly assays is driven mostly by advances in analytical methodologies, which can be supported by DoE.
The paper reveals an innovative method for extraction of nucleosides and deoxynucleosides from urine. An application of the DoE approach was useful not only for the analytical method development but also indicated the complexity of the dual sorbent characteristics, regarding two-way and three-way interactions.
